Nurturing New Talent with PMU License Training in Permanent Cosmetics
The primary purpose of this PMU License Training course is to develop individuals for entry-level competency in permanent cosmetic tattooing. We will empower new and existing participants in the permanent cosmetics industry with the best methodologies in continuing and quality education and training to our students by giving them the tools and resources to be successful in the basic skills, judgment, and desirable attitudes necessary to obtain licensure.
This is a 200-hour course designed to train students to become licensed permanent cosmetic tattooers. This PMU course will emphasize the development of knowledge, theory, and behavioral traits grouped together with ethics, standards, and principles of safety. Bloodborne pathogen protocols are also covered. Students will also learn color theory with pigments used in permanent makeup, safety, and sanitation, as well as practicals providing experience with professional results and customer service development.

Learn from Master Trainer Kristal King, who contributes her many years of experience and certification. She works with each student to ensure proficiency upon graduating. Kristal can efficiently teach students the art of microblading but most importantly certify them in safety and sanitation. A solid foundation and credentialing in this industry are keys.
A Blood Borne Pathogens certificate is required before you can start training. We are partnered with Life Is Valuable CPR, a certified provider through the American Red Cross. We offer your health and safety credentials in-house (optional). Email lifeisvaluablecpr@gmail.com for bloodborne pathogens and CPR credentials.
Certification of Completion
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate of completion, clearly outlining the objectives achieved during their training. This certificate qualifies students to take the Virginia State Board Exam, which is approved by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), enabling them to become Licensed Permanent Cosmetic Tattooers.
To maintain licensure, it is essential for students to renew their licenses every two years, which entails submitting a renewal fee. This ensures that licensed professionals remain compliant with current regulations and continue to uphold the highest standards of practice in the field.

My Journey to Empowering Beauty Professionals & Building Community
After 8 years in the corporate world, I realized I wanted to be an entrepreneur and give back. While pregnant and working full-time, I earned my Master’s in Business and started my first venture, Life is Valuable, as a CPR instructor. I also became an independent jewelry consultant but was still seeking the right fit. To create opportunities for others, I opened “Glam Room” salon suites for independent beauty professionals to build their brands in a chic environment. In 2022, I launched Glamour Beauty and Brows Training Institute to certify students in microblading and developed my designer line, "Glammies," inspired by the Glam Room's aesthetic. With two locations in Northern Virginia, I offer luxury salon suites and various beauty services, including PMU, lashes, and makeup.
My experience as a CPR and bloodborne pathogen instructor since 2008 has fostered a commitment to cleanliness and best practices. My MBA has been vital for growing my ventures. My success is thanks to my dedicated clients, supportive team, and family. I’m proud to give back through my businesses, providing top-notch service and opportunities for others.
